Ten Minutes a Day Could Change Everything

We ask all our pupils read for ten minutes at home everyday, ideally with an adult. It can be life-changing.

Key Information:

  • Classes: Mr Seymour (skeletorus) & Miss Saunders (giraffes)

  • 2025-2026 PE Day: Tuesday (pupils can come to school in PE kit on their PE day)

  • Library Day: Wednesday(6Sk)/ Thursday (6Gf)
  • Please ensure your child brings at least one water bottle to school each day
  • Drop off and pick up pupils from the bottom of the main building, between Reception and Year 2
  • Pupils in Year 6 can bring phones to school if you deem it is necessary; they must not use their phones in the playground and must hand their phone to their teacher in the morning who will look after it and return it at the end of the day. If you child has a smartphone, please be extremely vigilant with how they use it.

Home Learning:

We set carefully chosen homework to support your child in developing fluency in key areas.

  • Reading to support their progress and attainment in all areas of the curriculum. Pupils who read for pleasure almost always achieve more than their peers who do not across the wider curriculum, not just in English. Over the past four years, our pupils have outperformed pupils nationally in their reading SATs; with almost complete correlation, pupils who have read at home have scored higher than those who have not, and those who have struggled.

  • Times Tables recall, where we aim for a recall of 3 seconds to support with the challenges of the SATs arithmetic 30-minute timed test

To support them with this, each week pupils are expected to complete:

  • 20x rounds of Times Tables Rock Stars
  • 10-15 minutes daily reading at home 6 times a week

Pupils who complete the weekly homework expectations are rewarded with an additional playtime on Fridays.
