We would like to say that we are so proud of all of our pupils and their resilience and attitude in what has been a difficult year and a half, thanks you wonderful children you are FAB. A special mention to the year 6 pupils who leave us today; we sincerely wish you the very best as you move to secondary school, but offer an open invitation if any of you would like to come and see us in the future......... keep us informed of how things are going. Stay safe over the summer period and we look forward to seeing everone back on Thursday 2nd September- bright eyed and bushy tailed. .................. please keep an eye out for parentmails during the summer break as there is lots to share with you all........................Let us hope that next year is 'normal' and that we can enjoy being together in class and in school. Thanks to all the parents that have worked so hard to help their children through lockdowns, both academically and emotionally...........we know how difficult it was. Stay safe!

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS……EWE!

Churches Together in Shirley and District (CTiS) invites your family to join in four great festive events this Christmas.

The Shirley Shop Sheep Hunt

From 1 – 17 December, up and down Shirley High Street, knitted sheep will be hiding in shops. They may be in the windows, or they could be hiding anywhere in the shop.

While you are shopping, your children can be entertained locating sheep and finding out what each one is called. You can pick up the sheep hunt from Shirley Library, Santo Lounge or Jim Rolf’s. Completed sheep hunt forms can be returned to Shirley Library or brought along to the Christmas Craft event (see below!)

Christmas Crafts

You are also invited to an afternoon of free fun festive activities for all the family.  Starting at 3.30pm on Saturday 17th December at Shirley Baptist Church, there will be lots of Christmas crafts to make and take away, and some festive games for the more competitive minded. You can also bring your completed sheep hunt to this event and post it in the box BEFORE 4.15pm, ready for the draw before the glow stick parade to choose some winners who can pick their favourite sheep to keep!

The Glow Stick Parade

Gathering in the car park of Shirley Baptist Church (accessed via Crown Street) from 4.40pm, we will walk up Shirley High Street to the precinct for some traditional carol singing (words provided!). Join us to sing your favourite Christmas carols.

However you and those you love choose to spend your Christmas, Churches Together in Shirley and District wish you peace, joy and hope both now and in 2017.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS!
